Our tools
Imagine works to empower communities by promoting conscious behavioral change, with the goal of positively shaping local development. Our methods include engaging tools such as the travelling cinema, journalism training, and participatory photography.
Travelling Cinema - at first named "Cinema Arena"
Cinema becomes a tool for education, raising awareness, and inclusion. Through screenings in villages, the Foundation promotes dialogue on crucial issues such as health, irregular migration, sustainable agriculture, gender equality, and human rights.
For example, in Mozambique, from March to June 2024, a travelling cinema caravan in collaboration with UNIDO and Amocine reached the rural districts. The screenings and community meetings aimed to promote agricultural associations, with particular attention to the role of women and young people. Also in Mozambique, between June and July 2025, the Foundation carried out a new cycle of travelling screenings in collaboration with UNDP. Through films, discussions, and audiovisual materials, the campaign addressed issues related to hygiene, health, and gender-based violence.
Journalism Training
The goal is to provide local journalists with the tools to interpret and verify data, and to counter disinformation. Independent journalism promotes a future that is more inclusive, respectful of human rights, and rooted in the values of solidarity and participation.
With a commitment to long-term democratic development, the Foundation intervened in Guinea Conakry in 2025 during a critical political transition. With ECES, we launched a journalist training program prior to the constitutional referendum as a means to support the democratic process development.
Participatory Photography
We address educational poverty by leveraging the power of imagery. Employing the Photovoice methodology, we facilitate dialogue and bring community issues to light. Using participatory photography as catalysts for dialogue, we empower communities to discuss their challenges.
We also work in Italy, the Foundation’s country of origin. In spring 2025, working with the Lodi Community Foundation, we initiated a participatory photography program designed for students and young people. The program explored the dangers of the digital landscape and how emotions are portrayed online, fostering reflection on self-identity.
