Italy – Participatory Photography Workshops (February–May 2025)

Between February and May 2025, we intervened in the province of Lodi, launching a participatory photography program aimed at students and young people, in collaboration with the Fondazione Comunitaria di Lodi. The initiative is part of the IM-PATTO DIGITALE project, jointly supported by Fondazione Cariplo and the social enterprise Con i Bambini, aimed at addressing educational poverty and the digital divide, issues exacerbated by the Covid-19 emergency.

The workshops used participatory photography as the main tool. This methodology, inspired by the Photovoiceconcept, stimulates debate through visual tools, giving participants a voice and facilitating reflection on community issues. In particular, the program explored the risks of digital technology and the representation of online emotions, encouraging young people to reflect on their identity and share experiences and perceptions creatively.

The project has a dual objective: to highlight the challenges related to digital fragility and educational marginalization, and at the same time to foster widespread community awareness, identifying and engaging children, adolescents, and young people who risk being excluded due to a lack of digital tools, connectivity, or educational opportunities.

Through this program, Imagine and the Fondazione Comunitaria di Lodi contribute to creating spaces of participation and inclusion, using imagery as a means to generate awareness, dialogue, and concrete action within the local community.
